Abstract
Recently interest in renal vascular disease and unilateral parenchymal disease as a surgically correctible cause of hypertension has been much stimulated. Excretory urography and Howard-Stamey test are utilized as screening procedures for renal or renovascular hypertension and transfemoral renal angiography preferably as a final diagnostic "procedure in our hospital. Selection of a patient is the most important in its prognosis. We have -experienced good results in patients of young age after surgical treatments; nephrectomy and vascular surgery for unilateral atrophic pyelonephritis, fibromuscular dysplasia of the main renal artery and contracted kidney due to severe post-traumatic perirenal fibrosis.
